Unveiling Candles: A Radiant Rebranding Journey for thefor a Comforting Candle Company

Founded on a commitment to quality and innovation, Company has carved out a significant presence in the candle industry. This case study explores the recent overhaul of Company digital presence, focusing on a comprehensive website redesign and rebranding effort. We will examine the strategic steps taken to enhance user experience (UX), aiming to modernize the online platform and better meet market expectations. This initiative not only revitalizes [Company Name]'s brand identity but also aims to boost user engagement and support sustainable growth in the competitive candle market.

Problem Statement

The company's outdated branding and website design were failing to effectively communicate its brand identity and values to the target audience. The previous website lacked modern aesthetics, usability, and did not align with current industry standards. This disconnect resulted in decreased user engagement, limited online visibility, and potential loss of business opportunities.

Target audience

The company provided detailed insights into their target audience, which allowed me to tailor the redesign to meet their specific needs and preferences. Key characteristics of the target audience included: Demographic Profile: Age: 25-45 years old Gender: Predominantly female Income: Middle to high-income earners Location: Urban and suburban areas Interests: Home decor, wellness, luxury products Psychographic Profile: Values: Quality, authenticity, and sustainability Lifestyle: Busy professionals and homemakers seeking relaxation and ambiance-enhancing products Purchasing Behavior: Preference for online shopping, influenced by social media trends and peer recommendations

User Interviews

I conducted user interviews with a sample of current customers to gain deeper insights into their needs, preferences, and pain points. Key findings from these interviews included: Users desired a more luxurious and fashionable feel to the website, reflecting the premium nature of the products. Clean, modern aesthetics with high-quality visuals were important to enhance the shopping experience. Easy navigation and quick access to product information and reviews were critical for a seamless user experience. Mobile-friendly design was essential, as many users shopped from their smartphones.

Card Sorting

To refine the website’s navigation and information architecture, I conducted a card sorting exercise with users. This helped me understand how users naturally categorized information and which labels made the most sense to them. Results from the card sorting exercise indicated: Users preferred straightforward and intuitive categories such as "Shop by Scent," "Shop by Collection," and "Best Sellers." Popular filters included "Price Range," "Scent Type," and "Occasions," which helped users find products that matched their specific needs. Users valued a dedicated section for "New Arrivals" and "Limited Editions" to stay updated with the latest offerings.
